Department of Food Science Nutrition

The Department of Food Science and Nutrition is one of the front line departments and is engaged in research, teaching and extension activities. The mandate of the department is to conduct basic and strategic research with a view to understand the processes leading to solution of problems in food and nutrition security; to train undergraduate and postgraduate students and to impart training in food science and public health nutrition to personnel's of different institutes and organizations. The department is adequately equipped with modern infrastructure for carrying out high quality teaching and research leading to development of environmentally sound and economically viable technologies for sustainable development. The Department of Food Science & Nutrition is presently headed by Dr. Pranati Das.
